The snow melted and I was straight out to the front garden.
For the last six months or so I have been waking up at 5am to start the day. It has been such a gamechanger to wake up in a quiet house and take my time making coffee, having breakfast, reading and getting a workout in before the day really begins.
But the second that snow melted, I knew I wanted to move the whole ritual outside (it is still a bit early for it…!)
I have set up a small morning coffee and reading station in the front yard… a simple garden bench with a cushion, a small table for coffee, and some outdoor shelving to hold candles, books, coasters and the other little things that make it feel cozy.
To date this has primarily been used as a the soccer viewing gallery for my son, and an evening catch up spot with my husband, but as the clocks change and mornings get brighter, I’m planning to start the day out there instead.
There is something about being outside first thing in the morning that feels like a reset.
