The Rue Franklin Studio is the creative home of Mary, a self-taught abstract artist based in Washington, DC.

Her work blends acrylic and spray paint in bold, expressive strokes—each piece built up slowly by hand, layer by layer, until it finds its own rhythm.

Originally from County Cork, Ireland, Mary has lived in Dublin, London, Lyon, and now Washington DC. Her paintings reflect that ever-shifting point of view—sometimes native, sometimes outsider, always observing. Through it all, themes of home, connection, and belonging surface again and again.
